From the initial brief to the final installation, the design process can be broken down into four stages and Kate personally takes her clients through each stage to make it as smooth and enjoyable as possible. She regards the process as a collaboration and encourages the close involvement of everyone concerned.

THE BRIEF
We take time to appreciate your objectives and aspirations; what you are looking to achieve, as well as any particular design and renovation challenges you are facing. To fully understand the scope of the project we discuss budget and timeline and prepare a fee proposal based on the project requirements.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Once we have agreed to work together, we will conduct a survey and measure of the residence. We will develop a design concept based on your requirements and preferences and prepare a full design presentation. This will include furniture floor plans, with elevations and renderings where required, as well as room schemes comprising all the design elements including selection of furniture, fabrics, wall coverings, finishes and colours, window treatments, lighting and all other design-related criteria for the interior spaces. We can incorporate any furniture and art work you might already own and source new where required. All will be presented with samples of materials and finishes, along with preliminary costings and a strategy for implementation.

DESIGN IMPLEMENTATION
Having worked with you to create a design scheme you feel happy with, we will proceed to manage the project by specifying and purchasing items, processing orders, overseeing production and fabrication for workroom requirements, and coordinating delivery.

INSTALLATION

We will manage and observe all on-site installations of flooring, lighting, wall coverings, window treatments, furniture, artwork and accessories. We aim to do this in a designated period so that all is ready for you to walk through the door into your newly decorated home.

DESIGN CONSULTANCY SERVICE

We are asked to consult on a wide range of interiors, from historic royal palaces to modest
new builds. Kate puts the same level of care and attention into all.
Prices start at £500 for a single-room consultation and this includes the following:
• Preliminary chat about what you are looking for, your preferences, your timeline and
your budget.
• Full survey and measure of the room(s).
• Scale drawings, including furniture plans, elevations and sketches.
• Mood boards showing furniture, fabric, lighting, accessories and colour direction for the room.
• Presentation of the design with a budget and action plan. With this you can either
implement the design and manage the project yourself, or Kate can take care of it
for you for an additional management fee.
